Secretary of State Facility Appointments Driver Services

The Driver Services Facility Appointment System allows you to schedule your visit in advance up to 10 business days at select Secretary of State facilities for Illinois driver's license and state ID card services. You cannot schedule an appointment for vehicle transactions.

If you are renewing your driver's license or have an instruction permit, use the link below to check what type of exams you are required to complete. You will need to know what type of exams you are required to complete in order to make your appointment.

Commercial Driver License road-tests (semi-trucks, busses, delivery vehicles) are only available at select Commercial Driver License (CDL) facilities. Current CDL holders must schedule commercial vehicle road tests through the Fast Pass semi-truck, bus, and delivery vehicle scheduling system.

Commercial Driver License holders not requiring a commercial road test (behind the wheel), or others simply needing road-test, Driver License or Identification Card services, please use the appointment button below. Seniors, pregnant women and those with disabilities are always welcome as walk-ins. See above for services you may be able to complete on-line. Vehicle registration services (license plates, titles) do not offer appointments.
